DataBeyond's independently developed embodied AI waste sorting robots are set to officially commence operations at a waste treatment plant in Dongguan. This fully self-developed intelligent equipment can operate 24/7 without interruption. Its deployment will completely revolutionize traditional waste sorting models and inject new intelligent momentum into the solid waste management sector.

 

Recently, the "Ecological Environment Code of the People's Republic of China" was formally approved, marking the entry of China’s ecological and environmental protection into the "Codification Era." This provides a solid legal guarantee for the standardized and intelligent development of the solid waste treatment industry. Against this backdrop, on March 16, 2026, DataBeyond and Dongshi Environment officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, both parties will align with the overall deployment of "Waste-Free City" construction, focusing on three core areas: refined sorting of municipal solid waste, resource utilization of aged waste, and innovation in solid waste disposal models. They will carry out all-around, multi-level, and wide-ranging deep cooperation to jointly build a new benchmark for "AI + Solid Waste" industrial integration, driving high-quality development of a green, low-carbon circular economy through practical actions.

 

 

As the two core entities of this cooperation, DataBeyond and Dongshi Environment have achieved a deep complementation between the technical advantages of a tech-innovation enterprise and the resource advantages of a state-owned enterprise (SOE) platform.

 

DataBeyond is a national high-tech enterprise. Its independently developed multi-sensor fusion AI optical sorting technology leads the world and was selected for TIME magazine's "Best Inventions of 2025" list. With core technologies such as the 256-band hyperspectral sensor, the equipment's material sorting accuracy can reach 99.6%, providing hardcore technological support for solid waste resource utilization. As early as 2019, DataBeyond’s AI waste sorting robots were gradually put into use in multiple domestic cities. Over the years, the technology has undergone continuous iterative upgrades, and the product maturity and industry adaptability have been fully validated by the market.

 

Dongshi Environment, as the core platform for the environmental protection business of Dongshi Group, has been deeply involved in the ecological environmental protection field for over a decade. It possesses a mature solid waste disposal system, strong project operation capabilities, and rich offline application scenarios. It is a backbone force in the domestic comprehensive solid waste management field, with complete project implementation capabilities and full-chain operation service experience.

 

 

At the signing ceremony, both parties defined three core directions for cooperation:

 

1.Jointly building benchmark demonstration scenarios: Collaboratively creating benchmark projects such as intelligent sorting centers for all categories of high-value recyclables, new-type municipal solid waste reduction transfer stations, and intelligent sorting centers for low-value recyclables. This aims to achieve efficient full-chain control of municipal solid waste from source to terminal, forming a replicable and promotable new "Waste-Free City" governance model.

 

2.Deepening technological collaborative innovation: Dongshi Environment will introduce DataBeyond's full set of intelligent sorting equipment to promote the upgrade of solid waste treatment from "technology-driven" to "data-driven and intelligence-driven." The two parties will also co-build a solid waste big data platform to achieve full-process data collection and analysis, comprehensively improving the modernization level of the solid waste governance system.

 

3.Jointly expanding market layout: Integrating the core advantages of both parties in channels, technology, and operations to create a full-chain service system covering equipment supply, project construction, and operation maintenance. This will promote the low-cost, large-scale implementation of intelligent sorting equipment and help the green environmental protection industry improve quality and efficiency.

 

 

As the core product of this cooperation, the embodied AI waste sorting robot has attracted significant industry attention. DataBeyond Founder and CEO Mo Zhuoya stated in an interview that DataBeyond’s waste sorting robots have completed a full technological iteration, upgrading to an embodied AI form with intelligent collaboration between "large and small brains" and "dual hands." This version possesses stronger intelligent decision-making capabilities and operational flexibility, significantly enhancing the efficiency and refinement of waste sorting. Mo Zhuoya promised on-site that this embodied robot will officially enter operation in the first half of 2026. The equipment will gradually replace manual sorting, liberating frontline workers from "dirty, messy, poor, and dangerous" working environments, and achieving a comprehensive intelligent and safe upgrade of the waste sorting process.

 

 

Peng Guangshun, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Dongshi Group, stated that this strategic cooperation represents both parties' responsibility in responding to the national "Dual Carbon" goals and serving the cause of ecological environmental protection. Furthermore, it is a strategic choice for the deep integration and synergy of an SOE platform's advantages with a tech-innovation enterprise's technical strengths. Dongshi Group will take this signing as a new starting point to continue deepening all-around cooperation with DataBeyond and jointly create an industry model for the collaborative development of "SOE + Tech-Innovation."

 

The strategic cooperation between DataBeyond and Dongshi Environment not only marks a solid step toward intelligence in the field of solid waste treatment but also provides a practical path for tech enterprises and SOE platforms to work together in promoting green, high-quality development.
